If you follow me on social media, by now you probably know that I was recently exploring Kerala. This time I was invited by the Xandari Resorts owned by Muthoot Group to experience their four properties in five nights and six days. What was different about this familiarisation trip was that this time was that the Xandari Resorts team had allowed me to bring a plus one with me so I decided to take my mother along. In six days, Xandari Resorts made us experience not just their properties but also made us savour authentic South Indian cuisine and took us out to local sight seeing spots. Each of the Xandari property was different from each other and had a USP that made our staycation comfortable yet a memorable one.
On day one, as soon as we landed in Kochi from Delhi we began our 2 hour journey to reach Xandari Harbour. With a total of 23 rooms, this Botique resort will make you fall in love with everything it has on offer! As soon as you enter the resort, you will face the sea where you could spot fishermen at work or just travellers sailing on the ship.
We were welcomed at the hotel with a refreshing drink served in test tubes along with a hand towel.
Quickly getting checked in to our room, we were delighted to see that our room was facing the sea. The room has chic wooden decor with local snacks and fruits kept on the side table of the bedroom. The room was spacious with stylish art pieces.
The resort has one restaurant which is also their multi-cuisine restaurant called 52. Here, the chef made us relish the local cuisine as well as surprised us with with other cuisines. Each meal that came out from this kitchen was simply mind blowing! Xandari Harbour is a cosy and an apt place to begin your journey in exploring Kerala.
Xandari Cardamom County
We had the most eventful two days staying at the Xandari Cardamom County. This property is apt for all nature lovers. You will be staying amidst nature in Thekkady. This hotel has one all day dining restaurant that serves delicious sea food and has some amazing mocktails that you can try. Spacious rooms, plenty of recreational activities such as spa, swimming, sports – there’s a lot to do here. The best part about this resort is the fact that you get to explore the local flavour of the South Indian culture. Every day at 4 pm the chef from the restaurant along with one of the server, sets up a tea stall inside the resort. The area is beautifully created and looks exactly like a tea stall you would see on the roadside. The tea is served with local snacks.
Following a farm to restaurant concept, the resort grows several organic spices. Staying two nights at this resort, we got to explore Thekkady as well and had a splendid stay at Xandari Cardamom County.
Xandari Riverscapes is the house boat owned by the Xandari group. This was my first time staying in a house boat so I was looking forward to this experience. As soon as I entered the houseboat, I was surprised to see that the houseboat had all the essentials that we need and have in our homes. My house boat had three rooms. The room size was perfect for two people and the best part about the room is that there’s a window and a bench right under it. So you can sit there all day long to enjoy the view on a hot and humid day. Else, you can sit outside just behind the captain and relish delicious South Indian food served on banana leaf.
Each property being different from another, Xandari Pearl is a luxe resort that leads to the gorgeous Mirari Beach. This resort offers a spa, an all day dining restaurant called ‘Pearl Spot’, boating, swimming pool and if one swimming pool isn’t enough for you then you can opt for a private pool in your room suite! The rooms at this property give a mediterranean vibe with blue and grey colour combination. Everything about this resort is grand in the truest sense.
From humongous modern rooms to delicious and authentic South Indian cuisine, Xandari Pearl is apt for leisure travellers and perfect for you to bond with your family and friends.
